Mumbai, Jun 29 (Reporter) Criticising former Maharashtra chief minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray, BJP state president Chandrasekhar Bawankule said on Saturday that Thackeray himself has admitted that he does not understand budget, so he has no right to speak on decisions taken by the Mahayuti government on various schemes.
Talking to media persons on his arrival at Nagpur, he claimed that Thackeray did nothing for two and half years when he was the chief minister and came to the Mantralaya only twice.
And now he started talking about the budget, he said mockingly.
"If he really understood the meaning of the budget, he would have studied it before giving his reaction," he commented.
He described the budget presented by Deputy Chief Minister and NCP (AP) president Ajit Pawar as 'historic', he said that the budget is excellent for farmers, farm labourers and all the stakeholders.
Noting that the state government has implemented all decisions taken so far, BJP chief said that similarly, proposals made in this budget will also be implemented.
He also said that it is possible to give free electricity to farmers in next two-three years.
"If free electricity is provided, then farmers will benefit and the state GDP will increase, he noted.
Bawankule further said that the core committee of the party has suggested names of 18 to 20 candidates for the Legislative Council election, but senior party leaders will finalise the candidates.
On July 14, a meeting of the broad political executive will be held in Pune on July 14, in which the broad programme of elections will be discussed, he added...////...
