Mumbai, Dec 25 (Reporter) The Christian community in city and other parts of Maharashtra on Wednesday celebrated Christmas festival with joy and traditional fervour. Special prayers were held at churches in city and its suburbs. A large number of gathering was seen at Mahim church as well as at Mount Mary Church in western suburb of Bandra. Churches were decorated with buntings, lights and Christmas trees. Markets and shopping malls have made special arrangements for Christmas, enhancing the festive atmosphere. The day is a time of great religious significance for Christians around the world because it marks the birth of Jesus, who represents God's love and salvation.
