Mumbai, Dec 24 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday hit out at the opposition Congress party for spreading lies among the people on issue of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's statement in parliament about Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and demanded that 'Congress should first apologise for this'.
Reacting to the Congress' stand on Amit Shah issue, he accused the Congress of wasting the time of people and parliament by half-tweeting Shah's statement.
"Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi first wasted parliament's time, now he is wasting people's time," he said.
Fadnavis said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has exposed the Congress party while speaking in parliament that how the Congress insulted the Constitution and Dr Ambedkar.
Modi brought before the people how Pandit Nehru, Indira Gandhi and the Gandhi family were opposed to the mention of reservation in the Constitution.
He also raised the issue of not awarding the Bharat Ratna to Dr Ambedkar.
In fact, the Congress party did not allow Dr Ambedkar to be elected, the BJP leader claimed.
"Also, the house where Dr Ambedkar stayed in London was auctioned. Many organisations demanded that the house should not be auctioned, but the Congress ignored it. When our government came, we bought that house," said Fadnavis.
The Congress only wants to use Dr Ambedkar's name and politics, but it never honoured him, never gave the Bharat Ratna to him, he added...////...
