Mumbai, Oct 28 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar filed their nominations on Monday for the Maharashtra Assembly election from Thane's Kopri-Pachpakhadi area and Baramati, respectively, with both leaders taking out road shows before filing their nominations.
In Shinde's constituency, the road show began from Thane's Wagle Estate, Model Check Naka's Datta Mandir to Kisan Nagar's ITI building. Along with Shiv Sena and BJP, the Ramdas Athawale-led RPI workers also joined in the Mahayuti's rally.
In this show of strength, DyCM Devendra Fadnavis and other leaders were present.
Speaking with the media, Fadnavis said, "Thane always had saffron colour, and it will be the same. CM Shinde is filing his nomination, and he will win the election with record number of votes. Thane will be with Mahayuti yet again."
Notably, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has fielded late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe's nephew, Kedar Dighe, from rival Sena (UBT) against Eknath Shinde. Notably, Anand Dighe was mentor of Shinde.
Both, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar's families performed traditional Hindu rituals before the two leaders left to file their nominations.
Thane is Shinde's political bastion and retaining the constituencies in Thane city is the key for the Mahayuti...////...
