Maha: CM gives big relief to BAMS students

Mumbai, Aug 3 (Reporter) In a major relief to Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine (BAMS) degree students, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday allowed these students who are residents of Maharashtra but did their BAMS from other colleges outside the state to enroll for post-graduate Ayurvedic course through the state quota. After a meeting with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray at official Varsha bungalow in south Mumbai, the Chief Minister directed principal secretary of Medical Education Dinesh Waghmare to immediately make necessary changes in the post-graduate admission rules to remove this injustice against Ayurveda students. Accordingly, the students of Maharashtra who have done BAMS from other colleges outside the state will now get a big relief, as they will get an opportunity to secure admission through the 85 per cent quota (government and private aided) and 70 per cent quota (private unaided) of the state...////...
