Kolhapur / Ratnagiri, Aug 21 (Reporter) Apart from tourism, industries and fisheries that are contributing to development of the Ratnagiri district, an airport will also offer the biggest opportunity for next stage of development, expressed Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday. He was speaking at 'bhumi pujan' function of new terminal building at Ratnagiri airport this afternoon. Speaking on occasion, he said that since Ratnagiri district has a great opportunity for development, an airport was the biggest facility to reach next level of development. Shinde further said that the state government was not only taking all necessary steps to attract but also providing all kinds of facilities for setting up of industries in the state as well as in Ratnagiri district. Since rail, road and air connectivity plays a crucial role in development of all sectors, an airport at Ratnagiri was of utmost importance, he said and added that with this new terminal building, night landing facility will start in the district.
