Pandharpur, Jul 17 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde performed 'maha aarti' of Lord Vitthal and his consort Rukhmini in temple town of Pandharpur of Solapur district on occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi on Wednesday.
Farmer couple from Nashik district, Balu Shankar Ahire (55) and his wife Asha (50), who got the honour of puja, was felicitated by CM Shinde.
The Chief Minister prayed for prosperity of every citizen in the state.
Speaking on occasion, he said that since the state government belongs to common people, it is committed to bring happiness and prosperity in the lives of common people.
He further said that the government is trying to make the life of the common people better through schemes such as Ladki Bahin Yojana, Annapurna Yojana, Free Three Gas Cylinder Yojana, Apprentice Yojana for unemployed youth etc.
The Chief Minister said that Rs 73.80 lakh crore has been sanctioned for conservation of Vitthal-Rukmini Temple.
He announced that the plan of Rs 103 crore prepared by the district administration and the temple committee to implement darshan mandap and token darshan method in Vitthal temple on the lines of Tirupati Balaji temple has been approved.
The government is trying to provide all kinds of facilities to the devotees, he informed.
Shinde also informed that a new 1,000-bed hospital will soon be built in Pandharpur for millions of pilgrims who come here every year...////...
