Mumbai, Jul 27 (Reporter) In the wake of the Panchganga river having crossed the danger level, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday discussed about the flood situation and rainfall in Kolhapur district with collector Amol Yedge and instructed him to provide immediate relief to the disaster affected people.
Taking a review of the flood situation and rainfall in a virtual meeting with the Kolhapur collector, he sought information about flood situation, current rainfall situation and relief & rescue operations.
Taking into account incessant heavy rainfall in catchment areas of the dam since yesterday might lead of rise in the water level of Panchganga river, he said that NDRF, SDRF units would be sent there for rescue work if required and if necessary, the help of Army would also be taken.
Accordingly, the administration should pay attention to shifting people to safer places and provide them with all facilities at shelter centres, he instructed.
Two teams of NDRF and a team of Army have also been made available for assistance in the district, Shinde added and directed to monitor the flood situation in the district regularly...////...
