Pandarpur/Solapur, July 15 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed the administration department to provide all kinds of facilities in holy Pandharpur city, including Palkhi Marg, so the Warkaris do not face any kind of trouble during the Ashadi Ekadasi, which falls on Wednesday, (July 17).
Speaking in the review on Sunday evening, with the preparations of Ashadhi Wari at the government rest house in the holy town of Lord Vitthala's Shetra Pandharpur, the CM said there is a 'Triveni' confluence of workers, farmers, and labourers, and this government belongs to them. He assured that priority will be given to workers, farmers, and hard workers over VIPs for the darshan of Vitthal Rukmini.
On this occasion, Public Health Minister Dr. Tanaji Sawant, Rural Development Minister Girish Mahajan, Public Works Minister (Public Enterprises) Dadaji Bhuse, MLA Sadhan Awatade, Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar, Collector Kumar Ashirwad, Chief Executive Officer Manisha Avhale, District Superintendent of Police Shirish Sardeshpande, and heads of the respective departments were present.
Chief Minister Shinde further said that lakhs of devotees come to Pandharpur for the darshan of Vitthal Rukmini and stand in the darshan queue for 18 hours. Also, while coming to Pandharpur, on the road (by walk), there were palanquins everywhere, and there was a devotional atmosphere.
Palkhi (palanquins) Marg and all roads in Pandharpur city are cleaned, but the administration should increase the number of changing rooms and increase the number of garbage bins on both sides of the Chandrabhaga river, increase the required manpower, and ensure that the entire Chandrabhaga desert area remains clean.
He directed that care should be taken to ensure that nobody's cutouts (posters) are placed on any pole in Pandharpur city and that the roads should be kept open.
Free water bottles and mango juice will be given to 15 lakh pilgrims and devotees coming to Pandharpur. While distributing this, the number of stalls should be increased.
The Chief Minister said that the government has established an independent Warkari Corporation for the city, and its headquarters will be in Pandharpur. A comprehensive development plan for Pandharpur city should be submitted immediately.
He said that the state government has announced Rs 20,000 for each Dindi of Warkari.
and the same has been deposited in the bank account of the concerned Dindi.
As Pandharpur city has four important waris, millions of people come here during this period. Also, thousands of citizens come here every month for Darshan, so the health department should immediately submit a separate proposal for a new hospital with 1000 beds. The necessary funds will also be made available.
Similarly, in the proposal of 100 crores presented by the administration for the planned Skywalk and Darshan Mandap, separate arrangements for disabled and senior citizens on the line of Tirupati should be submitted, Shinde informed.
The police department should properly plan the traffic for Ashadhi Ekadasi. The police department should ensure that the pilgrims and devotees who come to Pandharpur city will not face any difficulties due to their fleet of vehicles.
The CM Shinde said that the government was contemplating making the necessary funds available permanently so that food can be arranged for thousands of police personnel who are performing their security duties during the war period. The government was positive about giving a separate fund in the future in the wake of the Ashadhi Kartiki Wari in Pandharpur, he added.
