Mumbai, Jul 8 (Reporter) In view of heavy rains that are ongoing all over Maharashtra, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday visited the control room at Mantralaya to take stock of the situation and directed all the systems at the district level to be alert and ready to meet any emergency.
Speaking on this occasion, he said that it has been raining heavily in Mumbai and other parts of the state for a few days and pointed that combined heavy rainfall has created problems at some places in the state.
All district level teams are working together to find a way out of this, he informed.
Necessary measures have been taken by the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation to drain water from the waterlogged places in Mumbai, he said and noted that schools and colleges have been given a holiday as a safety measure due to the rain.
Since local services in Mumbai have been affected due to the rain, special BEST and ST buses are being plied to ferry stranded commuters, he informed.
The Chief Minister has appealed to citizens not to go out of their homes unnecessarily as an Orange alert has been sounded on the Konkan coast...////...
