Mumbai, Aug 31 (Reporter) A meeting of the Manifesto committee of the Congress party was held under the chairmanship of former Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan here on Saturday.
While interacting with the representatives of major social organisations of the state, he talked about how the Congress party gives priority to issues that are mentioned in the manifesto.
This has been experienced by people of the state where the Congress government has come, he said and cited instances of Telangana and Karnataka.
Since the Congress party has always given priority to fulfilling the promises made in the Manifesto Committee, he said that is why Congress has come to be known as the government that thinks about the people.
During the UPA government, a committee of ministers, under the leadership of then prime Manmohan Singh, was formed, which emphasised on fulfilling the promises made in the manifesto, he said and claimed that the Congress has taken many policy decisions during its government.
Ahead of assembly election, the Manifesto Committee will hold a department-wise meetings in the state and also interact with citizens and social organizations of that area, Chavan informed and added that the Manifesto Committee will hold department-wise meetings across the state and interact citizens and social organisations of that area.
