Pune, Dec 1 (Reporter) The Service, Duty and Sacrifice Week will be organised on occasion of the birthday of former president of the Congress party Sonia Gandhi from December two to nine, said chief organiser of the event on Sunday.
The week will be inaugurated by former Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan while senior Congress leader Ulhas Pawar will be present as the chief guest.
The inauguration ceremony will be held on December two at Padmaji Hall, Maratha Chamber of Commerce in Pune, senior Congress leader Mohan Joshi told reporters here.
A special programme, called 'Samvidhan Rakshana Abhiyan', will be held this week on the occasion of 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution, he said.
Apart from this, a domestic employment camp will be organised for women, blood donation camp, general health check-up camp, distribution of fruits, sweets, clothes to disabled and hardworking women will also be felicitated by gifting them sarees.
The Service, Duty and Sacrifice Week has been celebrated by the Congress since 2004 and this year is the 20th to express gratitude for the renunciation of prime ministership by Sonia Gandhi, Joshi added...////...
