Mumbai, Jul 25 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday directed to set up a corporation for the welfare of ex-servicemen.
A meeting was held in this regard at Sahyadri guest house here, where various issues of ex-servicemen were reviewed.
A detailed discussion was held on various topics such as rest house for ex-servicemen at Kharghar, activities to be done by Mesco Corporation, salary of ex-servicemen, setting up a museum in Mumbai, giving special status to Apshinge village which is known as village of soldiers in Satara district, doing development work there, discount in toll for ex-servicemen.
Soldiers have performed their duty on the border, sacrificing their lives for the country. he said.
The state government is always positive for the welfare of ex-servicemen, the Chief Minister said and directed the department to take action to solve the problems of ex-servicemen.
The Chief Minister also directed the secretary of the department to form a corporation for the welfare of ex-servicemen.
CIDCO has provided a site for ex-servicemen's rest house at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai, he added...////...
