Maha: Dhananjay Munde issues clarification to allegations against him

Mumbai, Feb 4 (Reporter) Maharashtra Civil Supplies Minister Dhananjay Munde on Tuesday tried to clear air surrounding allegations made by social activist Anjali Damania against him, clarifying that all allegations are completely false and are made only to create sensation. In a press statement, he gave a detailed explanation on allegations made by Ms Damania, saying that his media trial was going on for last 59 days and he was being defamed by wrong and false allegations. Basically, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has emphasised on use of nano fertilisers and Maharashtra is the first state in the country to follow it. Due to use of nano fertilisers, farmers save time as well as reduce production costs and increase income, so he emphasised that maximum farmers should use nano fertilisers. He said that the purchase of nano fertilisers, electric spray pumps and cotton storage bags by the Agriculture Department during March 2024 was done entirely in accordance with the government guidelines. Excluding the said items from the distribution on DBT, the purchase was done by the government only with prior permission of the Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister and the Finance Minister. Munde further said that fertilisers, nano urea and nano DAP, purchased by the government, are manufactured by IFFCO and their prices are the same all over India. "So, there was a difference in these rates, and it is a sign of ignorance to say that there was a scam of so many crores," he reasoned. Similarly, in context of battery-operated spray pumps, some companies in some states provide six months warranty and internal repair to the spray pump, but the Maharashtra government had laid a condition on at least one-year's warranty and the cost of repair should be borne by the concerned company, he informed. Munde also explained that procurement was done by conducting the process in a competitive manner and the relevant tenders were extended twice so that maximum number of companies could participate in the relevant four types of tender process, he added...////...
