Mumbai, Feb 9 (Reporter) Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has directed the administration to submit the proposal for the Shri Kshetra Mahabaleshwar, Pratapgad Fort, and Sahyadri Tiger Project Tourism Development Plan immediately.
According to the official press statement issued on Thursday night, a meeting was held at Mantralaya under Pawar's chairmanship in this regard.
During the meeting, Pawar said while working on the tourism development plan for Srikshetra Mahabaleshwar, Pratapgad Fort, and the Sahyadri Tiger Project, according to the tourism development plan, natural colours should be used while beautifying the locality and construction materials should be emphasised. The original beauty of the area should remain intact. Work should be proposed.
State Excise Minister and Guardian Minister of Satara Shambhuraj Desai, MLA Makarand Patil, MLA Shivendra Singh Raje Bhosale, Planning Department Principal Secretary Saurabh Vijay, Tourism Department Secretary Jayashree Bhoj, Public Works Department Secretary Sanjay Dashpute, Finance Department Secretary A. Shaila, and Satara Collector were present in this meeting.
Jitendra Dudi, Deputy Director of the Archaeology Department, Hemant Dalvi, and other officials were also present.
Pawar further said keeping in mind the preservation and conservation of Pratapgad Fort, the roads leading to and from the fort, the construction of bastions and fortifications, the repair works of the fort, and the facilities for tourists should be included in the tourism development plan. Care should be taken not to spoil the original beauty of the fort in any way. The biodiversity of the area should be maintained while doing tourism development work in the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve. Suggestions were made to promote local agri-tourism and provide employment to local people.
While developing Srikshetra Mahabaleshwar tourism, propose new works keeping in mind the design of ancient temples and structures in local places. Care should be taken to ensure that the technology used to develop the forts is durable.
Pawar also said while working on the ancient temple, rivers, and surrounding areas in Sri Kshetra Mahabaleshwar, the suggestions of the locals should be taken into consideration.
