Mumbai, May 13 (Reporter) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and BJP's star campaigner, Devendra Fadnavis on Monday made a startling revelation, alleging that NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar promoted his nephew and rival NCP chief Ajit Pawar to do illegal work in order to make him look like a 'villain'. Talking to reporters here, he claimed that Sharad Pawar wanted an alliance with BJP and he decided thrice on it, but he always reversed it. Sharad Pawar always promoted Ajit Pawar to do illegal work despite the latter's reluctance and made him look like a 'villain', he further claimed. "Ajit was lucky, as he decided to support us," he said. Talking about allegation of corruption against Ajit Pawar from 2009 to 2012, the DyCM informed that he (Fadnavis) himself had demanded an inquiry against Ajit Pawar when he (Pawar) was a minister. When allegation was investigated and found it to be true after investigation, he said that many officials who were involved in corruption were suspended. Though Ajit Pawar was head of Irrigation department, he was not directly involved in corruption anywhere, therefore, his name was not found in charge-sheet, he explained. Asked why Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding more campaign rallies in Maharashtra than last two elections, Fadnavis replied that earlier, there was only one Shiv Sena, but now there is Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and hence, Modi is addressing more campaign rallies in the state, he added...////...
