Maha: ECI prohibits announcement of any type of exit polls ahead of assembly election

Mumbai, Oct 28 (Reporter) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has prohibited the announcement of any type of post-voting public opinion results (exit polls) ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly election, according to the media statement issued on Monday. Apart from this, it has also prohibited announcement of any kind of opinion surveys (opinion polls) within 48 hours before the polling time. The assembly election and the by-election for the Nanded Lok Sabha constituency will be held on November 20. In this background, the ECI has prohibited to conduct and publish or disseminate the results of any exit poll by newspapers, electronic media or any other means (exit polls) from 0700 hours of November 13 till 1830 hrs on November 20, a statement said...////...
