Mumbai, Dec 4 (Reporter) BJP's Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday met Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan and staked claim to form new Mahayuti government in the state, bringing to an end over a weeklong stalemate over government formation in the state since announcement of state assembly election results on November 23. The grand alliance combining BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and NCP (AP faction) swept to power with a thumping majority in this election. He staked the claim after the Governor invited the Mahayuti to form the government in the state. After meeting the Governor, all the three leaders of Mahayuti including caretaker chief minister Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar held a press conference and presented their roles. However, there is still suspense over Eknath Shinde's role in the new ministry, as he is still not ready to join the cabinet, saying that he will make his stand clear by evening. On this, Fadnavis said, "I have met Eknath Shinde and requested him to stay in the cabinet on behalf of the Shiv Sena. All the MLAs of the Shiv Sena and the Mahayuti have the same wish. I am sure that he will also give a positive response." When asked about Shinde's participation in the cabinet, Fadnavis replied that he would wait until the evening. Shinde, who was keen on becoming the chief minister for second term, talked about how the Mahayuti government did so much in a short stint of two and half years. "It is difficult to tell one memorable moment. All our decisions were historic. These decisions will be written in golden letters," he claimed. When reporters asked Shinde whether he and Ajit Pawar will take oath on Thursday (tomorrow), Shinde asked them to wait till evening. On the other hand, NCP president Ajit Pawar reacted immediately with a joke saying that Shinde will wait till evening, but he will take an oath tomorrow as he cannot wait...////...
