Maha: Fire breaks out in fruit processing plant

Sangli (Maharashtra), Feb 13 (Reporter) A fire broke out at a godown of a food processing plant in Maharashtra's Sangli district on Thursday, destroying goods worth around Rs one crore. However, there were no casualties. Police said the fire was seen this morning in the warehouse of Aditi Foods Pvt Ltd at Nerle village in Walva tehsil. According to personnel from Islampur police station, the entire stock of goods in the godown was gutted, resulting in a loss of around Rs one crore. The company exports processed fruit items including mango pulp, tomato ketchup and chocolates. Fire brigade teams rushed from nearby areas and extinguished the blaze.
