Mumbai, Sep 30 (Reporter) The Maharashtra government announced in the cabinet meeting on Monday that it has distributed a subsidy of Rs 2,398.93 crore to soyabean and cotton farmers for the 2023 kharif season.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar and Agriculture minister Dhananjay Munde deposited the subsidy in the farmers' banks accounts online.
It has been decided to give a subsidy of Rs 5,000 per hectare to the cotton and soybean farmers in the limit of two hectares.
In the first phase, Rs 2,398.93 crore are being deposited into 63.64 lakh accounts of 49.50 lakh farmers. The number of cotton and soybean farmers in the state is around 96,00,787...////...
