Nashik, Aug 17 (Reporter) A day after the Nashik Bandh called by the Sakal Hindu Samaj on Friday over the issue of Bangladesh turned violent in Old Nashik area, the District Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse on Saturday convened an urgent meeting to review the law and order situation in city and appealed people to maintain peace.
While taking stock of the situation with special inspector general of police Dattatray Karale, police commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Rural Police superintendent Vikram Deshman and district collector Jalaj Sharma, he appealed people to maintain peace, and no one should behave in a manner that would disturb the law and order, take the law into their hands and avoid behaviour that disturbs social harmony.
He appealed citizens to cooperate with administration so that the peace of the city is not disturbed, avoid spreading rumours on social media nor believe in rumours.
He urged people to inform police if anything suspicious is found.
The minister instructed the police administration and other agencies to be on alert and act for the safety of public.
Meanwhile, Rural Development Minister Girish Mahajan immediately arrived in Nashik on Friday, went to the hospital and inquired about the injured.
In violent incident, some vehicles were damaged in pelting of stones and two deputy commissioners of police were injured...////...
