Chhatrapati Sambhaijnagar, Sep 2 (Reporter) Cyclone activity in Arabian Sea increased rainfall, damaging standing crops in Hingoli, Jalna, Nanded, and Parbhani districts, and disrupting normal life across Maharashtra and the Marathwada region, an official said on Monday. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in Marathwada on Monday. According to the official, the region experienced an average of 87.4 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, leading to overflowing water reservoirs and water logging in fields in many areas. Parbhani, Hingoli, and Jalna districts are the most affected by heavy rainfall, with an average of over 100 mm. The highest rainfall was recorded in Parbhani district, followed by Hingoli, Jalna, Beed, Nanded, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Latur, and Dharashiv districts, with the highest being 138mm,they stated. Since June, the region has experienced an average rainfall of 956 mm, which is 128 percent of the previous year's rainfall. According to the forecast given by the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area over the Arabian Sea has moved towards the southwest in the last 6 hours.
