Maha: Industry Minister assures of jobs to Bidkin industrial project victims

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug 12 (Reporter) Maharashtra Industry Minister Uday Samant on Monday assured that the family members of Bidkin industrial project affected victims will be given priority in jobs as per their educational qualifications. Presiding over a meeting held at collector's office here organised to resolve issues of Bidkin industrial project victims, he said that since the farmers gave away their lands for this project, the role of the government is to solve the problems of these farmers on a priority basis. He said that the locals will be given preference in industries. Besides the required skilled manpower, the locals will be absorbed in the job according to their educational qualification or by imparting skills training by the company, he informed. The minister further said that in case if they are not educationally qualified, the industry will train them in the skills they need and those candidates will be accommodated in the job. He instructed agencies to take a decision as soon as possible on the financial compensation to be awarded to the project-affected farmers who have given their lands for Bidkin MIDC in the district and send all these cases to the Ministry by August 17. He said that 70 per cent of farmers whose lands were acquired for the project have been given 70 per cent of the class II land. Of the remaining 225 unpaid cases, 75 have been compensated while the remaining 150 cases would be sent to the government on August 17 after approval from authorities, he said.
