Mumbai, Jun 25 (Reporter) As biennial election to the Maharashtra Legislative Council will be held on July 12, interested candidates can file the nomination papers till July two.
In this election, 11 members to the state Legislative Council (upper house) will be elected from the members of the Legislative Assembly (lower house).
An official press statement issued here on Tuesday said that candidates should contact Maharashtra Legislature Secretariat secretary (1) (Charge) and Election Returning officer Jitendra Bhole, deputy secretary and assistant Election Returning officer Umesh Sharad Shinde, and under secretary and assistant Election Returning officer Seema Tambe on any day till July two (excluding public holidays).
They can file the nomination papers at Room No 122, 1st Floor, Vidhan Bhawan, Backbay Reclamation, Mumbai, from 1100 hours to 1500 hrs.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on July three.
The date for withdrawal of nomination is July five.
If the election is contested, polling will be held on July 12 from 0900 hrs to 1600 hrs, the Returning officer informed...////...
