Mumbai, May 21 (Reporter) Thirteen Lok Sabha constituencies of Maharashtra including Mumbai and suburbs recorded approximately 54.33 percent polling in the fifth and final phase of general elections in the state.
The Chief Electoral Officer's office issued a statement as polling ended 6 pm Monday.
As per the CEO, Dindori in Nashik district recorded the highest voter turnout at 62.66 percent while Kalyan recorded the lowest at 47.08 percent.
In the rest of the constituencies, Palghar recorded 61.65 percent, Nashik (57.10 ), Dhule (56.61), Bhiwandi (56.41), Mumbai North (55.21), Mumbai North East (53.75), Mumbai North West (53.67), Mumbai South Central (51.88), Thane (49.81), and Mumbai South was 47.70 percent, it said.
All the EVMs from these constituencies were kept in a strong room in the presence of all political party representatives in their respective constituencies amid tight security.
