Beed, Oct 12 (Reporter) Quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil on Saturday once again challenged the grand alliance (Mahayuti) government in the state over issue of reservation for the Maratha community, warning that if the government does not take a decision on reservation issue before implementation of the code of conduct, then he will not back down unless the government is overturned.
While addressing the 'Melava' (gathering) of the Maratha community on occasion of Dussehra festival at Narayangad in the district, he said that he has been agitating for last 14 months but the government has not accepted any of his demands so far.
The government should take a decision on reservation soon before the code of conduct comes into force, otherwise, he would wait till the code of conduct is implemented, he asserted.
"The government did not accept any of my demands. I have one thing to say to the government. All the problems of the people should be solved before the code of conduct. But if it does not happen, you should listen to what I will say after the code of conduct. Let us see what they do...," he said.
".... I will tell my main role after the code of conduct comes into effect. You all agree, don't you? They have deceived us. So now we have to wait till the code of conduct is implemented," he stressed.
Jarange-Patil said, " The Maratha community has 'sanskaras ' (deep impressions), so they have never practised casteism or never insulted any castes. On the contrary, this community has taken care of everyone and been supporting everyone."
"So now, we have to wait till the code of conduct is implemented, to see whether their demands are fulfilled or not. Then, I will announce the next course of action after implementation of the code of conduct," he added...////...
