Maha: Minister Bansode performs 'bhoomipujan' of Buddha Vihara in Latur

Latur, Sep 22 (Reporter) Maharashtra Sports & Youth Welfare minister, Sanjay Bansode, on Sunday performed the 'bhoomipujan' of Sarnath Buddha Vihara at Avalakonda in Udgir taluka of the district. Speaking on occasion, he assured that sufficient funds will be made available for the Buddha Vihara at Avalkonda, which would be known as Sanskar Kendra. Like the Buddha Vihara at Gulbarga in Karnataka, a magnificent Buddha Vihara has been erected at Talves in Udgir town, he informed. Speaking further, the minister informed that development works worth around Rs 6,000 crore have been undertaken for creation of infrastructure in Udgir assembly constituency of the district. Also, an MIDC has been approved at Udgir, which will soon bring in industries here and the local youths will get employment, he said. He further said that in Udgir town, nearly Rs 10 crore have been made available for construction of Maratha Bhavan and about Rs 7.5 crore for construction of Veerashaiva Lingayat Bhavan. Apart from this, funds have also been made available for construction of Reddy Bhavan, Renukacharya Bhavan, and Urdu Bhavan, he informed. Additionally, the Demokratira Sahitya Ratna Annabhau Sathe memorial and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's statue are under construction, he said and pointed that efforts are being made for development of this area by taking all the social organisations along. Bansode also talked about the welfare works being undertaken by the state government such as the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana for women, three free household gas cylinders every year, free electricity of up to 7.5 HP to farmers under the Chief Minister's Baliraja Power Concession Scheme and the Chief Minister's Tirtha Darshan Yojana for the elderly citizens whereunder they will be taken on pilgrimage, he added...////...
