Maha: MPCC chief attacks Mahayuti Govt on reservation issue

Mumbai, Jul 10 (Reporter) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole on Wednesday attacked the BJP-led Mahayuti government in the state, saying that there is no consensus on reservation issue within the government. While reacting on the reservation issue in the Assembly premises here, he held the Mahayuti government responsible for complicating the reservation issue in the state, saying that the government has been promising reservation to the Maratha community since 2014. "There is a BJP government at the Centre as well as in the state, if they had the will power they would have given reservation," he said. Talking on allegations that opposition leaders did not attend the all-party meeting on the reservation issue, the MPCC chief refuted the allegations saying they are wrong. "There have been all-party meetings on the reservation issue in the past, the government just has to take a decision and they should take it," he averred. While maintaining that there was nothing wrong in Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar's meetings Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil and the OBC leaders, Patole said that the opposition leader has fulfilled his duty and demanded that the government should answer whether there is a consensus on the reservation issue.
