Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jul 27 (Reporter) With people in Maharashtra seeking a change in government in upcoming assembly election, the opposition Maha Vikas Agadhi (MVA) is geared up to fight this election together, declared NCP (SP) national president Sharad Pawar on Saturday. Addressing a press conference here, he said, 'In the Lok Sabha election, some BJP leaders took a clear stand that their party needs to win 400 parliamentary seats to change the Constitution of the country. Now, when the assembly elections are going to be held shortly, people feel that there should be a change in the state government. We have started the process of fighting the assembly election together." "If everyone comes together then it is fine, otherwise we will have to pay the price," he cautioned. "We (MVA partners) had a discussion three days ago. This time, Shiv Sena-UBT leader Sanjay Raut, NCP-SP state president Jayant Patil and senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat gave the names of the committee to discuss seat allocation," he said. "I have suggested that the Left parties should be taken along with the major parties and that they should be given some space," he said. When asked about the survival of NDA government at the Centre, the NCP supremo remarked that "I do not know whether the central government will fall or not", while expressing his surprise over relevance of the query. Without naming Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu, he said, "As long as both are with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has no problem. Earlier, power was concentrated in the hands of Modi, but now time has come to share it with others." On issue of Maratha reservation, Pawar said the Maratha reservation issue was discussed several times, while pointing that one caste should not be merged with another. "It is a serious matter that one caste should not go to another caste," he remarked and suggested to keep a closer watch on two or three districts of Marathwada region. "The situation that has arisen in Marathwada should be resolved by taking everyone together. I suggested to the government to call a meeting of Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil and OBC leaders, so that the problem can be resolved by calling people like us." Some people have been demanding to relax the 50 per cent cap on reservation, but Maharashtra is unique in this matter, he said and added that if anything happens, Pawar is blamed for it...////...
