Jalna, Oct 20 (Reporter) In a significant decision that could be a game changer in the Maharashtra Assembly election due to be held next month, quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil announced on Sunday that they will field their candidates on those seats depending on their winnability.
While addressing the members of the community at Antarwali Sarati village in the district, he declared that wherever there is a possibility of their candidate getting elected they would field a candidate while at other places, they should take a stand to overthrow those who are against reservation for the Marathas.
He also announced that they will not field candidates at SC or ST reserved seats but in fact, would stand behind those who support the Maratha reservation cause.
The activist further said that they will field their candidates after determining the strength of the Maratha or the Muslim population.
"I am trying to fit in such equations because such equations need to be reconciled. Now, you also fill the nomination forms for the assembly election. But whenever I will ask to withdraw, then those candidates should withdraw their nomination," he stressed.
Jarange-Patil also criticised both of the ruling Mahayuti and opposition Maha Vikas Agadhi (MVA) groups in the state.
He particularly criticised Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for not granting reservation to the Maratha community.
Notably, the aggressive stance taken by Jarange-Patil on the Maratha reservation during the Lok Sabha election, it had a tremendous impact on the voting percentage and the ruling BJP-led alliance suffered a major setback...////...
