Jalna, Oct 16 (Reporter) A day after the Election Commission of India announced the date for Maharashtra Assembly election, quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil on Wednesday lashed out at the BJP-led Mahayuti government in the state on issue of reservation, saying that he does not think that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde can or will give reservation to the Maratha community as the leaders of other allied parties who are with him do not or will not allow him to take this decision.
Talking to reporters at Antarwali Sarati village in the district, he accused the Mahayuti leaders of meting out ill-treatment to the Maratha community than the leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and claimed that the OBC community does not stand behind the rulers.
He appealed the members of Maratha community to be careful from now on and said that if a decision to contest election is taken, aspirant candidates should keep their relevant papers ready for filing of the nominations.
He said, "I want to discuss with those who have applied for election. Interested candidates from Maharashtra should come to Antarwali Sarati on Thursday (tomorrow) to meet him between 0900 hours to 1600 hrs.
The activist said that the final decision on contesting the election will be taken in the community meeting due to be held at 1000 hrs on October 20 at Antarwali Sarati village.
"We will not allow you to go ahead by bypassing the Marathas," Jarange-Patil added...////...
