Maha: RSS chief urges Hindus to be strong

Nagpur, Oct 12 (Reporter) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday asked Hindus to be strong, saying that the Hindus should realise that being weak is harmful. While addressing public rally on occasion of Vijayadashami (Dussehra) festival at Resham Bagh Maidan here, he gave an example of Bangladesh and said that the Hindu community was targeted there. However, the Hindu community has organised and resisted, he noted and said that the Hindus of Bangladesh need help from the Hindu community all over the world. On the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh, Bhagwat further said, "There was a violent coup d'état in Bangladesh due to local reasons. Once again, the people of the Hindu community were oppressed. The Hindus there protested against the atrocities. This time, the community organised and came out to defend itself." "If a country wants to be strong, its subjects must have character. A country grows on the strength of national character," he said and noted that Anukul Chandra Thakur had tried the same in Bangladesh. "Our country is moving forward. Technology, science is making advancements in all fields. Society's understanding is increasing. India's reputation in the world has increased. This progress should not stop. But some challenges remain in front of us. Some challenges are not only before the Sangh, Hindu society or India but the entire world. "Assembly elections were held peacefully in Jammu and Kashmir. India's credibility and reputation have increased worldwide. Our yoga is becoming fashionable all over the world.
