Maha: Rural housing engineer trapped in bribery case

Kolhapur, Jan 22 (Reporter) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested an engineer for rural housing with Zilla Parishad sub-division of Hatkangale tehsil in the district while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from complainant. Under 'Ramai Awas Yojana', complainant had been sanctioned Rs 1.50 lakh, out of which, he had already received Rs one lakh in three installments and was waiting for remaining two installments. So, complainant met accused Avinash Ashok Sutar (33), an engineer for rural housing in sub-division of Zilla Parishad in Hatkangale tehsil of the district and requested him to deposit remaining two installments in his bank account. He demanded Rs 13,000 for it, however, the matter was settled for Rs 10,000. Reluctant to pay the bribe, complainant informed about this to ACB office, whose team laid a trap and caught him red-handed while accepting the bribe money from complainant, an official press release said here...////...
