Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Sep 23 (Reporter) The activists of Sakal Maratha Samaj held 'rasta roko' agitation here on Sunday in support of ongoing hunger strike by Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil in Jalna district. The Sakal Maratha members gathered in large numbers at Jijau Chowk on Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Jalna road and staged 'rasta roko' agitation amidst chanting of slogans against the ruling Mahayuti government in the state and in support of ongoing fast agitation by Jarange-Patil at Antarwali Sarati village for his demand of reservation to the Maratha community in OBC quota. During the protest, there was heated exchanges between agitators and police deployed on 'bandobast' duty when they asked protesters to stop their agitation and to clear the road for vehicular traffic. Notably, Jarange-Patil has been agitating for his demand of implementing 'Sage Soyare' (blood relatives) notification for granting reservation to the Maratha community in OBC quota since last one year.
