Mumbai, Oct 16 (Reporter) A day after the Election Commission of India announced the date for Maharashtra Assembly election, the BJP-led Mahayuti government in the state on Wednesday released a report card mentioning their achievements during the two-and-a-half-year tenure. The ruling alliance members, comprising Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, BJP and Ajit Pawar-led NCP, targeted the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) on occasion. Incidentally, the release of the report card comes three days after the opposition MVA released a report, alleging various cases of corruption by the ruling Mahayuti. In reply to that, the Mahayuti released its report card, highlighting various infrastructure projects, investments, and welfare schemes launched by the government. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were present at the time. Speaking on occasion, Ajit Pawar said the opposition MVA had taunted them by releasing a report on alleged scams during the Mahayuti's tenure, but they were confused, he claimed. "Our government has given everything to the people of Maharashtra. But opponents are a little confused. I will not say that they are scared, but they are confused," he noted. Devendra Fadnavis attacked the opposition, saying that "those whose Home minister went to jail should not teach us law." "The state saw a government of speed and progress after the suspension government was gone. Transformational schemes were introduced in Maharashtra under the leadership of the Chief Minister," he claimed. Maharashtra is the only state in the country to create a separate company for provision of electricity to farmers, said Fadnavis. He alleged that there was not a single project that had received revised approval during the previous MVA government. "However, we have given revised approval to 145 projects, as a result, 22,000 hectares of land will come under irrigation. An attempt has also been made to solve the water problem of Marathwada by approving the Wainganga-Nalganga river-linking project," said Fadnavis. "Furthermore, we have given a substantial increase in the salary of Home Guards. We also made one lakh youth entrepreneurs through Annasaheb Patil Corporations and are now making a Corporation for journalists and newspaper sellers as well," he said. The Congress leaders went to court to stop Ladki Bahin Yojana but they were not successful, said Fadnavis. Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray has threatened to stop all the schemes of the grand alliance, however his attempt to lock down Maharashtra by bringing a temporary government will not succeed, he added...////...
