Mumbai, Jun 27 (Reporter) Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday slammed the ruling Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, saying that the triple-engine government is not only corrupt but also expensive government. Talking to reporters at Assembly premises, he accused the government of being anti-farmer and anti-people. Calling the BJP-led government as the 'leakage government', he alleged that there is a leak in the innermost part of the Ram temple as well as in exam papers. "We were targeted when we raised questions about the same," he said. Talking about plight of farmers in the state, the Sena (UBT) chief observed that they are suffering due to scarcity of water, bogus seeds and fertilisers, no remunerative prices for their agri produce and mounting debt. "On an average, one farmer commits suicide every day in Amravati district alone," he claimed and demanded that the government should make farmers in the state debt-free as soon as possible. On crop insurance scheme, he said that farmers have not received crop insurance money as yet. "Crop insurance for one rupee was announced extra-constitutionally by the Chief Minister. But only 70 rupees have come in the hands of some farmers," he alleged. He further said that the triple-engine government should give crop loan waiver to farmers immediately while recalling that he had waived off crop loans of up to Rs two lakh. "Farmers should get loan waiver before upcoming assembly elections," he demanded and asked the state government to take help of the central government for this purpose. Taking about Ladali Yojana, he called for putting an end to discrimination between men and women under this scheme. "Do not discriminate between men and women under this scheme," he asserted. Commenting on presentation of the Budget on Friday (tomorrow), Thackeray remarked that there will be only 'empty' announcements. "I always say this government only makes false announcements," he said. "If this government has the courage, it should tell the truth about how many declarations made over past two years have been fulfilled," he added and dared the government to come out with a white paper in this regard. "If this government releases the white paper, it will be totally blank," he added...////...
