Sangli, Dec 4 (Reporter) A 32-year-old waiter was allegedly murdered by unidentified assailants at Haripur in Miraj tehsil of the district early on Wednesday. The waiter was returning home after night shift on a motorcycle early this morning, when some unidentified persons stopped his motorbike and suddenly attacked him with sharp weapons in chest, stomach and back. In this incident, the waiter died on the spot, police said. After the attack, assailants fled from the spot. The deceased was identified as Suraj Alisab Siddhnath (32), resident at Pawar plot, Haripur road, who was working as a waiter at Sangam Hotel. The cause of murder has yet to be ascertained. The Rural Police have launched a search operation for assailants, sources added.
