Mumbai, Aug 28 ( UNI) Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government has become the first in India to implement the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) for state employees, following the announcement of the nationwide pension scheme by the Union Cabinet.
The Central Government announced the 'Unified Pension Scheme' on August 24. On the same lines, instead of the proposed 'Revised National Pension Scheme', this scheme (Unified Pension Scheme) is being implemented in the state, said Chief Minister in a statement on Wednesday.
He said the finance department has informed that the additional expenses incurred in this regard are being approved.
The "Finance Department" is being authorised to implement the Integrated Pension Scheme for Central Government Employees in Maharashtra as per the guidelines of the Central Government, the statement said...////...
