Mumbai, Sep 19 (Reporter) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has welcomed the concept of One Nation One Election, calling it revolutionary. In a statement issued late on Wednesday night, Shinde said the election process in India, which is a strong democracy, will be more effective and convenient for voters due to this concept. The Union Cabinet has approved the concept of one Nation One Election in the country. Shinde said India has taught the world the lessons of a strong democracy. "Therefore, it becomes necessary with time to adopt modern and better changes in the electoral process. We have supported this concept of One Nation One Election from the beginning," he said. "Therefore, the central government's step to make this concept a reality will be revolutionary and in the long term will save money, time, and manpower," he said.. Shinde suggested that a code of conduct process be implemented to carry forward the concept. He said frequent elections halt development works slowing down development.
