Mumbai, Oct 11 (Reporter): The Congress in Maharashtra has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's government of "rushing to loot as much as possible" by approving tenders worth crores of rupees in haste. This ensured a share of the benefits before their exit, alleged Congress’s chief spokesperson, Atul Londhe in a media statement on thursday night. Londhe stated the state Cabinet has issued a Rs 90 crore tender for digital platform advertisements, decreeing that the amount must be spent within five days. Additionally, the Cabinet has approved another tender worth Rs 23 crore for sending government decisions to the public via SMS. Strongly criticising the "wasteful spending of public money", he called it the "Maha-extravagance" of the Mahabrashtayuti government in its final phase, in an obvious reference to the approaching Assembly elections. Londhe said while the state is burdened with over Rs 8 lakh crore in debt, the government is "recklessly issuing tenders to earn commissions". |This government is spending Rs 23 crore to send SMS updates to the public about cabinet decisions, and a tender is being sought for these SMS services. "Already, Rs 450 crore has been approved for advertisements under the Ladki Bahan Yojana.
