Ratnagiri (Maharashtra), Jan 14 (Reporter) Maharashtra Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil on Sunday threatened to sue Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar Group) leader Rohit Pawar if the MLA failed to produce evidence to prove his allegations about graft in the ongoing recruitment process for Talathis in the state. Vikhe-Patil said he has demanded some documents and if Pawar failed to produce those to prove his allegations and on how he got such information, then he would file a case against him in due course. Addressing a press conference in Ratnagiri, the Minister asserted that the recruitments were being done transparently in the state and there was no corrupt practices involved in the ongoing process. Vikhe-Patil, who is on a visit to Kokan for the revenue department sports competition, said after Pawar made the allegations expressing double about the recruitments, he sought evidence from him. However, Pawar hasn't been able o give any evidence of wrongdoing in this regard, he added. Virtually challenging Pawar, Vikhe-Patil said NCP (Sharad Pawar) should either prove the allegations, or face the consequences. He said if the ongoing recruitment process stopped then it would be an injustice to about 8.50 lakh youths, who filed their applications for a total of five thousand Talathi posts. On Pawar's demand for a white paper on the issue, he said: "We would come up with a white paper on Lavasa land dealing along with that on Talathi recruitment issue". A new sand policy with a study on the mistakes in the earlier sand policy, would be announced within a week, Vikhe-Patil said and added that though the MVA goverment had announced a new sand policy earlier, ordinary people were deprived from getting sand at a cheap rate...////...
