Mumbai, Mar 8 (Reporter) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday welcomed the state's fourth women's policy, saying it has infused new energy and hope on International Women's Day.
"On this year's International Women's Day, Maharashtra has given new energy, new hope and new strength to the women's power in the state by implementing the fourth women's policy of the state," said Pawar in his statement.
The idea of equality between men and women has been strengthened. A strong foundation has been laid for the social, cultural and economic development of women in the state through decisions such as women's health, nutritious food for women, women's education and skill development, women's safety, employment creation for women, women's participation in the decision-making process, financial assistance to women athletes, increasing participation in the cultural sector, he said.
To effectively implement this policy, a high-powered committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, then a separate committee under the chairmanship of the Women and Child Development Minister, and a committee under the chairmanship of the Guardian Minister for district-level implementation will work.
He also expressed his belief that the implementation of women's policy in the state will be effective through the contact, communication and coordination of these committees, and women empowerment will be accelerated.
