Majhi, Patnaik visit Durga Puja Pandals in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Oct 11 (Reporter) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday visited various Durga Puja pandals in the capital city, Bhubaneswar, to seek the blessings of Maa Durga on the occasion of Mahashtami and Mahanavami. Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also visited Durga Puja mandaps during the day and offered prayers. Majhi visited as many as nine puja pandals in the city and prayed for peace and prosperity for the people of the state. There was a large crowd of people at the puja pandals, eager to take photographs of both Majhi and Patnaik during their visits. The Chief Minister extended his wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Mahashtami and announced that no ground rent would be collected from the puja committees holding community pujas in Bhubaneswar and other places across the state. Majhi stated that the government had decided not to collect ground rent from puja committees in the state for holding the puja on government land...////...
