Kolkata, June 8 (Reporter) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said " wait and watch" and predicted the fall of the Narendra Modi led NDA government as the " people and country need a change of guard," at the Centre. Addressing the media after being reelected as All India Trinamool Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson in the party's newly elected MPs and district Presidents meeting at her Kalighat residence office, the TMC supremo said, the "country needs change, we are keeping a watch on the situation. Let's see how long this NDA government lasts." Today INDIA bloc may not have staked claim to form a government, but that doesn't mean it won't tomorrow," the TMC supremo reiterated. She said the mandate was against the BJP and that "Narendra Modi should not become PM anymore". Banerjee dubbed the Exit Poll a big scam and demanded a probe and lambasted the BJP's claim to cross 400 seats. She demanded the withdrawal of NRC, CAA, and UCC across the country. She said the TMC is now the 3rd largest party in the Parliament with 29 of the total 42 members, in the Lok Sabha. " The party (BJP) even fails to secure a simple majority after such a tall claim," Banerjee said. The Chief Minister blamed the ECI, poll observers for their alleged partisan policy in favour of the BJP and claimed the wo seats in Medinipur ( Tamluk and Kanthi) were rigged. Besides, there were some more seats in the state where the elections were rigged to ensure the win of BJP candidates, she alleged. "Modi intended to get a two-third majority. However, the BJP didn't even cross the majority mark. They are nowhere near that number (272 seats). How will they Amend the Constitution without a two-third majority? Last time, they had passed bills without discussions but won't be able to do it this time," Banerjee claimed. Earlier Banerjee was reelected as All India Trinamool Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson in the meeting. The party elected Sudip Bandyopadhyay, MP from Kolkata North as the leader of the party, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar as the Deputy leader, and Kalyan Banerjee as the Chief Whip in the lower house of Parliament. Rajya Sabha member Derek O'Brien has been elected as the leader of the party in Rajya Sabha, Sagarika Ghose as the Deputy leader and Nadimul Haque has been designated as the Chief Whip in the upper house. Banerjee congratulated the victorious candidates, especially the new ones such as Yusuf Pathan, Rachana Banerjee, Mitali Bag, Jagadish Chandra Barma Basunia. She said the win was dedicated to the Shaheed of July 21 and thanked the people of West Bengal for giving overwhelming support to Ma Mati Manus in the 2024 poll. The TMC won 29 seats, the BJP reduced to 12 and the Congress got only 1 seat in the election...////...
