Kolkata June 5 (Reporter) After winning 29 out of total 42 Lok Sabha seats in Bengal, Chief Minister and TMC chairperson Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday called her newly elected MPs to meet at her Kalighat residence office on June 8 to chalk out the strategy following split verdict in the 18th General Election.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), headed by the BJP, emerged as the single largest party with 240 seats.
However, the NDA required a number of MPs with new allies of TDP, headed by N Chandrababu Naidu, and JD(U)'s Nitish Kumar, also the Chief Minister of Bihar.
In Bengal the TMC won 29 seats, 7 more from 2019 and BJP was reduced to 12
from 18 and Congress got one only. The CPI(M)-led Left drew blank
like five years ago.
Meanwhile, TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, who won over 7
lakh votes over his nearest rival at the Diamond Harbour seat in South
24 Parganas, an
all-time record in India, on Wednesday reached New Delhi to attend an
INDI Alliance meeting there...////...
