Mamata expresses deep shock over Kuwait fire incident

Kolkata, June 12 (Reporter) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday expressed her deep shock over the devastating fire in Kuwait, in which more than 40 people died, and asked the Resident Commissioner in Delhi to be in constant touch with the Ministry of External Affairs to know about the wellbeing of people of West Bengal origin in Kuwait and to take all appropriate steps on an emergent basis. A recent report said several Indians were among 49 people killed after a fire broke out in a building housing workers in Kuwait's Mangaf city. "Deeply shocked to know about the devastating fire incident in Kuwait, which has already taken a toll of more than 40 lives. My condolences to the bereaved families," Bengal CM said. "I have instructed my Chief Secretary and Resident Commissioner in Delhi to be in constant touch with the Ministry of External Affairs to know about the wellbeing of people of West Bengal origin in Kuwait and to take all appropriate steps on an emergent basis," Banerjee added...////...
