Manipur CM engages with youths trained in hospitality and perfumery

Imphal, Oct 7 (Reporter) Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Monday called upon the people to shun violence and focus on peace and hearing rather than placing blame as he announced financial assistance for youths undergoing training related to employment schemes.The people of Manipur have faced significant challenges. However, with determination and willpower, we can overcome these hardships. It is crucial to focus on peace and healing rather than placing blame," the Chief Minister said during the interaction with youths trained under the 'Hunar Se Rozgar Scheme' and in perfumery at Hindu College, Delhi. The Chief Minister called on the public to avoid violence and resolve issues peacefully. Under the Hunar Se Rozgar Scheme, approximately 400 youths have completed or are currently undergoing training, with 169 securing job placements in major cities, including 78 from the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) category. Additionally, 30 youths, including 15 IDPs, participated in a three-week perfumery training program at Hindu College. During the programme, participants from various districts shared their experiences and expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister and the Government of Manipur for their support. Chief Minister Singh praised the Deputy Commissioners and departmental officials for their dedication to providing training programmes. He described the interaction as emotional, emphasising hope for the state's development through youth engagement. Expressing satisfaction with the youths' commitment to their livelihoods, Singh announced financial aid of ₹50,000 each as seed money for those who completed the perfumery training. He also mentioned that further assistance could be accessed through the 'One Family One Livelihood' Scheme or startup initiatives. The Chief Minister revealed that the government would provide a one-time support of ₹5,000 to assist trained youths in settling into their new jobs. He also promised to arrange special flights for those placed in different cities, personally seeing them off at the airport to offer his blessings. He urged the youths to seek knowledge about welfare schemes to enhance their confidence and highlighted various initiatives to assist those in relief camps. Singh said he intended to extend training programs to all districts, prioritising individuals residing in these camps. Wishing the youths well, he underscored their role as the foundation for future generations. The interaction was attended by ministers, MLAs, senior government officials, Deputy Commissioners, and trained youths, with representatives from Tamenglong, Churachandpur, Senapati, Ukhrul, and Kangpokpi Districts participating via video conferencing.
