Imphal, Aug 19 (Reporter) Manipur Congress President K Meghachandra on Monday took strong exception to the use of the term "Chin State of Manipur" in the draft of Vision India 2047 Document of North East Council (NEC). Taking to social media platforms, Meghachandra said Chapter 3 of the Vision India 2047 draft of North East Council stated, "The Kuki (Chin) from the Chin State of Manipur" and wanted to know the reason for using words "the Chin State of Manipur". The chapter deals with the migration of people to North East India from other countries. Chief Minister N Biren clarified in a social media post that the matter had been brought to the notice of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and the document stood withdrawn. Meanwhile, the Congress leader demanded that Prime Minister Modi should officially issue a statement stating that there will be no creation of Chin State out of the map of Manipur and the territorial integrity of Manipur will remain intact.
