Imphal, Jun 16 (Reporter) President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday assured Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey to extend all possible assistance after hearing the problems that the state is facing today. A Raj Bhawan statement said Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey, called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi today and congratulated the President for smooth and successful conduct of the Swearing-in Ceremony of the new government at the Centre. The Governor apprised the President about the recent flood that wreaked havoc in Manipur and the relief and rescue works taken up by the state and central governments. Informing about the hardships faced by the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in various relief camps in the state, the Governor requested the President to take up immediate action for resettlement of the displaced people to their respective places. She requested the President to provide financial assistance for the displaced people in the state. The Governor invited the President to attend the Convocation Ceremony of Manipur University. She also met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at Rashtrapati Bhawan and requested financial assistance to the state.
