Shillong, Dec 27 (Reporter) The Meghalaya government on Friday announced a seven-day state mourning in honour of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday night at AIIMS, New Delhi.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has condoled the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh saying : “India will always cherish, remember, and take inspiration from his contributions.“
“Deeply saddened by the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji. I recall his remarkable legacy as a distinguished economist, erudite scholar, and a leader who rose from humble beginnings. He will be remembered for his vast contributions towards the growth of modern India,” Sangma said.
Secretary General Administration Department, Cyril V. Darlong Diengdoh said the state will observe a 7-day state mourning from 26.12.2024 to 01.01.2025 and during this period the national flag will be flown at half-mast throughout the state.
“There will be no official entertainment during the period of state mourning,” Diengdoh said...////...
